Toronto IUI clinics, compared honestly
Every IUI clinic in Toronto and the surrounding GTA.
IUI is the most under-considered fertility treatment in Toronto. Most patients with mild infertility, PCOS, unexplained infertility, or a need for donor sperm could try IUI first — three to six cycles at $400–$800 each — before defaulting to IVF at $13,000–$20,000 a cycle. Every full-service IVF clinic in Toronto offers IUI, and most newer digital-first clinics do too. The right clinic is usually not the highest-volume IVF clinic; it's the one with the most efficient IUI workflow, transparent pricing, and a stepwise treatment philosophy.
Inclusion: clinic offers IUI as a published service in the GTA. Last verified May 2026.

How to pick a Toronto IUI clinic
Workflow efficiency is the headline factor. A typical IUI cycle involves 3–5 monitoring ultrasounds, trigger timing, and the IUI procedure within a 24–48 hour window. Clinics with mature IUI workflows handle this smoothly; clinics focused primarily on IVF can be less efficient at IUI scheduling.
Stepwise treatment philosophy matters. Some clinics push toward IVF after one or two failed IUIs; others recommend three to six cycles before considering IVF. A clinic that defaults to IVF after one failed IUI is probably not the right place for stepwise care.
For donor sperm IUI, ask about the clinic's preferred sperm banks (CRYOS, Fairfax, Outreach) and the donor-coordination workflow. The digital-first clinics — Pollin and Twig — have built donor-coordination workflows around modern patient expectations.
- What's your typical IUI cycle workflow and monitoring schedule?
- How many IUI cycles would you recommend before suggesting IVF?
- What's your all-in IUI cost per cycle including monitoring and medication?
- Do you offer letrozole-stimulated IUI, and when would you recommend it?
- If I'm using donor sperm, which banks do you work with?
- What's your per-cycle IUI success rate for patients my age?
Frequently asked questions
How much does IUI cost in Toronto?
+
IUI typically costs $400–$800 per cycle plus medication ($100–$500). Donor sperm adds $900–$1,500 per vial. Not covered by OHIP or OFP.
Should I do IUI before IVF?
+
For most patients under 35 with mild or unexplained infertility, three to six IUI cycles before IVF is standard. Over 38, the calculus shifts toward IVF earlier because time-to-pregnancy matters more.
What's the success rate for IUI in Toronto?
+
Under 35 with unexplained infertility, expect 10–20% per cycle; over 38, 5–10%. Cumulative success across three to six cycles can be 30–50% in the right age band.
Is IUI covered by OHIP or OFP?
+
No — IUI is not covered by OHIP or the Ontario Fertility Program. OFP funds IVF cycles only.
How long before switching to IVF?
+
Three to six cycles is standard. After three failed cycles, your clinic should review whether the protocol can be optimized before defaulting to IVF.
